A close friend of 34-year-old Sukhmanpreet Singh Sidhu, alias Sippy, who was shot dead in a park at Sector 27 on September 20, has stated to the UT police that the victim, during his tour to Canada before the incident, shared with him that he perceived threat to his life.Sources said Ramandeep Dhillon, who is settled in Vancouver, met the UT police officials a few days ago and recorded his statements.
During his tour to Canada to promote sports, Sippy had stayed with Dhillon for around 15 days in September before returning to India.Sippy had spoken to Dhillon in Canada about threat to his life, the sources added.While over 44 days have passed since the incident, the UT police have failed to crack the case. The police have questioned a High Court Judge’s daughter twice in connection with the murder case. However, the cops have remained tightlipped about the questioning.
